Chad le Clos of South Africa overpowered the defending champion and world record holder, Michael Phelps of USA in the Men’s 200m butterfly on day four of the swimming events at the 2012 London Olympic Games in London Aquatics Centre on Tuesday, July 31.
The South African swimmer, who entered the final round as top fastest swimmer, served notice of his talent in the distant butterfly discipline as he dethroned Phelps from his butterfly title.

The Badminton World Federation has opened disciplinary cases against four women's pairs for “not using one’s best efforts to win a match” and “conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport”.
The Chinese pair, Yu Yang and Wang Xiaoli, as well as two pairs from South Korea and one from Indonesia are accused of trying to lose in an attempt to manipulate a draw.
All four pairs had already qualified for the last eight meaning the only thing at stake were the final placings in the group stage.
All the players were booed by an irate crowd as serves were deliberately hit into the net and shots hit wide and long on an embarrassing evening for the sport.
