No Al Qaeda links in attempted skyjacking
http://www.sabcnews.com/south_africa/crime1justice/0,2172,142382,00.html

Police say there is no evidence that last night's attempted hijacking of an Air Botswana flight had any link to Al Qaeda.

Vish Naidoo, a police spokesperson, was commenting on reports that the would-be hijacker claimed to be an Al Qaeda member.

The 26-year-old man has been arrested for trying to hijack a flight between Gaborone and Johannesburg last night. The plane landed safely at the OR Tambo International Airport.

Naidoo says the suspect claimed to have a bomb, but was only armed with two items that posed no real threat. The man is expected to appear in court this week.
